On-street parking is a valuable community resource that the County provides on many streets, which must be managed for the greatest public benefit. Arlington’s long-standing Residential Permit Parking (RPP) program manages on-street parking in 24 residential areas with the goal of helping to provide close and convenient street parking for residents, in balance with other goals for County streets.

County staff have been reviewing the purpose and function of Arlington’s residential permit parking (RPP) program. As the first major review in over 10 years, it has been an opportunity to consider changes that improve the program’s efficiency, user experience, and fairness. 

After extensive public engagement, research and analysis regarding the program, the project team has released a proposed RPP program for public review and comment.

How it works:

Provide your input on the proposed RPP program in a series of short questionnaires.

The questionnaires are organized into the key elements of the proposed RPP program. Each of the 6 questionnaires includes a short video explaining the element, how the proposed changes impact this element of the program, and how engagement and analysis informed the proposed changes. The video is followed by a few questions to collect your feedback.
