Gateway Park Interim Dog Park Project

The Gateway Park Interim Dog Park project is a proposal to redevelop a portion of the west end of Gateway Park into a temporary dog park. The facility is proposed to include separate areas to accommodate both large and small dogs, fencing with screening in some areas, upgraded lighting, a water source for dogs, grass surfacing, double entry gates, maintenance gates,  repurposed and ADA accessible benches, dog waste receptacles, a message board, and standard County signage.

The Gateway Park Interim Dog Park is a pilot project giving neighbors the opportunity to propose temporary park amenities to activate parkland that is currently underutilized and/or awaiting a formal park master planning process. This proposal was brought by the Rosslyn Dog Owner's Group (R-DOGS) to help address the limited options for dog relief and exercise needs in the Rosslyn neighborhood.

Your feedback on the draft proposal will help inform the approval process and/ or any necessary adjustments to the proposed design. Watch the presentation and when you're done, please SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS HERE
