Feedback on FY 2022 Budget

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Arlington County has provided millions of dollars for the public health response and in COVID-19 relief, such as housing assistance and eviction prevention, food assistance, and small business grants.  In addition, the County has provided $10.15 million in additional funding for Arlington Public Schools for COVID-19 related reopening costs. The funding comes from the federal CARES Act, anticipated FEMA reimbursements, state allocations, and local contingency and reserve funds. At the same time, the County faces significant ongoing reductions in revenue, which already resulted in a scaled-back FY 2021 budget that eliminated employee compensation increases and all previously planned expansion of services.
